Cindy Huttner is a University of Minnesota graduate with a BA degree in Speech Communication with an emphasis in Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communications and Organizational Behavior. She has a minor in Music Education. She received additional Jazz and Classical training at MacPhail Center for the Arts, and she participated in an intensive residential piano program at Sonatina School of Music in Vermont.
She has taught piano privately since 1973 at age thirteen. During 2001-2005 Cindy created and taught Club Accent; performing arts with a French flair through Edina Community Education. In 2005, she wrote the curriculum and taught an adult piano course through Yamaha School of Music.
She has a full private piano student schedule. Her teaching style combines a mix of Yamaha, Suzuki and traditional methods, plus her own ideas and techniques. Cindy trains advanced students to accompany solo and group performances and how to teach piano.
In addition to her private student schedule, Cindy is an alternate teacher for piano lessons and group classes at MacPhail Center for the Arts. Throughout the year Cindy provides special music at several churches and is a choir member at Lake of the Isles Lutheran Church.
Cindy was Yamaha trained and facilitated a piano wellness program, that targets stress reduction and connects people with their passion for music.
In February 2011, Cindy became a certified Dance Fitness instructor. Dance Fitness combines movements of jazz dance, resistance training, Pilates, yoga, kickboxing, and more. In March 2018, Cindy added another Dance Fitness certification.
